from another link on this forum - Industry news-Arson attacks at Denham airfield Bucks-- this is where Cilla Black lives ,is this one of the liverpool deserters once they had made their money,did any of the Beatles live in the City after they were famous ?,Tarbuck ?,Frankie Vaughan did a lot for boys clubs but where did he live ? ???can you name anymore .They all loved the city but they don't live here !!

Now this time I disagree.
It is money, how much you have, how little you have, how much you will have over an extended period of years, how much you can borrow, how you choose to use the disposable cash you have. I know where I would choose to live - but can't, along with (I'm sure) 95% of the population!

The problem is that once you reach that level in your career, you have no choice. The UK is so London-centric that everything to do with media and entertainment is based there, so everything you do revolves around the capital. You can resist it and resist it (and the Beatles did), but in the end you have no choice. Of course you could commute, but as someone who did it just for six months, I wouldn't recommend it.
Despite the fact that Coronation Street is filmed in Manchester, I notice that a lot of the cast (almost all of whom are Northerners) spend a fair amount of time in London wining and dining - I've seen a few of them myself!
