There was apparently at least one more F-15E arrival after I left and before I was established at Mildenhall, with a further 4 seen passing over
Mildenhall at 1410, before breaking for circuits and eventual landing at Lakenheath.
Had hoped for some F-35 Lightning activity, but apparently the unit is away on detachment, leaving behind aircraft for IAT Fairford and SBAC Farnborough.
Perhaps next time?
MILDENHALL, Friday 22nd July, 12:40 to 17:45
Having been told that a C-17 had departed Mildenhall and observing multiple Hercules movements and a departing Osprey there during the morning, although it
seemed that movements at Lakenheath had not finished for the day (fire extinguishers etc still out on the arrival inspection bay), moved on to Mildenhall.
Quickly discovered that the multiple Hercules movements were one aircraft training!
Paid the required fee and sat in John's field overlooking the threshold - along with an ever increasing tall ladder equipped Dutch spotters.
Arranging this log in terms of types, rather than by registration.

In addition, a further 3 or so MC-130J lined up, maybe another CV-22B running up, but did not fly, at least 3 further based KC-135Rs, a white top Boeing EC-135 and a white top E-3 Sentry out on various dispersals.
Enough activity to keep me interested. Quality of my images is a little mixed, grey aircraft against bright skies is not the greatest combination. Good to see some Osprey action and two Boeing KC-135Rs returning for a landing.
