Courtesy of BBC Rewind....just a short clip...some nice views of Speke's terminal. The title frame is of an interviewee on the apron at Speke. Of interest is part of an aircraft just visible to his right.... Shorts Skyvan??? No exact date for this film..

It's a Shorts SD.360 operated by Manx Airlines,just a little bit bigger than a Skyvan.👏

The presence of a Manx Airlines Short 360 puts the film clip in the period March 1984 to around 1994? Doesn't really help with dating the clip though.

Apologies if this is not the correct thread, but there is an interesting short clip which I have never seen before of the airport and aircraft in 1938, Its in Skyscraper liverpool, old images of Liverpool, page 251, item #5003.

The link to the movie clip on a forum thread mentioned by 'Harbourcotter' is: Just over a minutes worth of the control tower and No.1 hangar with Railway Air Services DH.86B Express 'Venus' parked, starting and departing at 7 minutes in, halfway through the film. Many may know the photo of G-AEWR 'Venus' alongside a not quite completed terminal building, dated November 1938, used to great effect on the cover of the A4 landscape first edition of Phil Butler's 'An Illustrated History of Liverpool Airport', MAS 1983. The movie clips could well be the same occasion, if so the preceding Control Tower clips are a little earlier, before the terminal building was built around the 'tower'. In error, at first I found page 251, item #5003 on the JLA thread which is a 2013 dated post in reply to statements made by a member by the username 'Baldyman 26', umm .. sounds familiar. The JLA thread is a very active one.
