14 November. I had hoped to watch the arrival of ten Swiss AF Hornets for the annual 'Yorknite' exercise, but visibility was poor and they postponed for 24 hours. Their Embraer support aircraft sat in a holding pattern SW of the airfield waiting for the mist to lift. It never did lift but the pilot tried an approach anyway, and managed to get it down safely. The airfield closed after it had taken off. HB-AZE ERJ-190-300STD by Dan Sprague, on Flickr 15 November. Visibility was a bit better, but it was raining quite heavily when the Hornets arrived. One of the ten had a problem and returned to its base at Payerne soon after setting off, so only nine made the journey. These photos were taken from the sewage works at the north end of the runway.
