Alan, a mate of mine and myself are in Zurich for two days at the end of this month. We're booked in to a local hotel just off the tram line (3 stops down) What would you recommend as the best spot to log aircraft from? I do take photo's but mainly will be a number crunching trip for both of us Any help would be appreciated

Bob, From what I noted whilst there for numbers the best spot would be the viewing terrace on the roof of terminal E. This is situated in the middle of the airport and can only be reached by bus after having passed through security. Tickets (2CHF) are from a machine in the portacabin where the airport tours start (located by leaving main Terminal, turn right, approx 200 metres along just near the start of the elevated roadway). Make sure you stock up from the large supermarket in the food hall (opposite the main terminal) as there are no facilities over on "E" apart from a couple of vending machines. There are toilets and an under-cover area (with arrivals/departure screen) if the weather is not good. Everything tends to land / take-off / taxy past the terrace here. Do take the airport tour as it visits areas not visable from any of the terminals and with the two of you nothing will be missed. Some views from Terminal E terrace Hope this helps Alan
