I am logging up my hand written logs and have come across a N6238F which doesn't seem correct on 25 September 2002 - the day of a number of visiting aircraft with Basle supporters as I have HB-IOA, F-GTLZ, HB-IUH, HB-IUN, HB-IQK, D-AKNI and I-NEOT logged. I think that the aircraft in question was in the GA area but I can't find anything by searching some old photos on Flickr or the internet archive for NWAN which goes back to 2003. Any suggestions? Regards, Rob(an old Speke spotter from the 1960's with infrequent visits since).

Unless someone gets an answer in first, I'll not in a position to look at the 2002 paper NWAN magazines until after this weekend. The answer will be in there somewhere, be it as a visiting aircraft or resident.
For anyone working on their Speke/Liverpool old logs, I have the visiting aircraft logs available on Excel spreadsheet for the periods 1960 to 1969 and 1970 to 1980. Drop me a PM with an e-mail address if you would like the folders forwarded as attachments - as there are no images, for the amount of data contained, the folders are not that large. Brian.

Brian - Thank you for the reply - no problem to wait until you have an opportunity to look back in your old magazines. Regards, Rob

I agree. I've looked through the list of all GA twins and singles that used Liverpool Airport in 2002 and the only one that comes anywhere close is N8258F a Beech B36TC Bonanza - and it called on the stated date, Wednesday 25th September 2002. It was on the ground 09:43 until 08:52 the following day. Additional to your list Basle FC fans were brought in on HB-IUO MD-83 10:40 and HB-IHS B.757 17:04 which, like the 7 on your list stayed until the early hours of the following day.

Adrian/Brian - thanks for your input - too long ago to remember why I wrote it down as poorly as I did and I clearly didn't follow it up at the time. Not the first time that Adrian has helped me out with my logs - but 53 years since the last time! (I still have several letters that the late Graeme sent me in the year after our family moved away from Liverpool and he referred to Adrian's log from time to time). Regards Rob
