There seems to be a lot more aircraft on display than there were last year, which was very quiet. Is this a sign that business is picking up? I did get some photos last year, but a lot of my stuff (including the camera) was stolen from the Krokus Centre.

Garstonboy, Attendance was slightly up on last year but still not an important event on the calendar. Boeing, Airbus and Cessna don't even bother as they feel that the EBACE show is far more imprtant. Business Aviation in Russia has probably suffered more than other regions but a change in reguations may start to stimulate some growth.
Sorry to hear about your theft - have been many times without incident but I never feel totally comfortable there.

Thanks Hawker.
I think the problem is that they hold part of it in the Krokus Centre, but the aircraft are at Vnukovo3, and it's not an easy journey between the two, especially around the MKAD, (the Moscow Ring Road), which I think you will agree makes the M25 look like a race track!
The people from Krokus told me thefts were a regular occurence. When we tried to call the local police at Tushino, there was no answer!
An ex-colleague of mine is the Sales Manager for Cessna in Europe. He's never had much faith in the Russian market, even in its' heyday, but I have to agree that EBACE is the premier show in Europe.
I had heard that Ecuador had ordered a Legacy. It's performance and range out of Quito should be interesting, to say the least!

MKAD is hit and miss - first day took nearly two hours to get to Vnukovo, the second took around 30 minutes !
Sadly the Crocus Centre is a hotspot for crime - the many fancy shops in the Mall attract the elite who are often easy targets for pickpockets and petty thiefs.
The vast size of the area has meant that Cessna aircraft don't really have the aircraft to deliver the 'mission profile' that many owners require. Plus, there are no maintenence facilites in the major cities.
