Hi. Next April i will be off to JFK on Delta 155.. is the aircraft used on this route a 757-200 ER.. ? or do they put anything else on this route..? I return from Las Vegas via a short stop at Atlanta and continue to MAN on the same plane.. Delta 064. which i am told is a 767-300.. Can anyone confirm the equipment used by Delta.. on those flights. I am not impressed by a 757 to JFK.. seems a bit on the small side for 8 hours. ... anyone out there actually flown on it..? Thanks in advance

Ezs Not sure what there like to fly across the pond on , but seem to be popular with the airlines. AA have 2 daily and Con also 2 daily. I think Delta use the old TWA 757,s but not sure how they are configured. I have known delta to use a 767 on this route but not sure of time of year.
Hope this is of some use ?

Hi
My wife and I travelled to New York on the Delta 155 (back home on the 154) in June. It was a 757, though I don't know enough about them to know which variant. I think Delta use a 767 earlier in the season, then switch to 757. Plane size doesn't matter to me, surely seat pitch and layout is more important? Anyway, outbound we were in the very back row (think it was 40?). Seats are fine, a bit narrow but no worse then any other airline, and I am 6 foot and 15 stone. I'm not sure if all the planes have got seat-back tv, but ours had got it both ways. You have to pay extra for live tv, but movies and 'prerecorded' tv programmes are free and there's plenty of choice. There are also games, including a trivia quiz where you play against other passengers. I thought the food was fine, though my (fussy) wife didn't like it. TBH I can't actually remember what we had though. The stewards were great - they look and behave much more relaxed than their European counterparts, and I think BA would have a fit at their appearance, but I though it made a nice change. The only downside, as I'm sure people have warned you, is JFK airport. It's as bad as you think, and then worse than that. As we were last off the plane, we queued for immigration for the best part of an hour and a half. Remember to build that in if you've got onward plans. If you're travelling to NYC, take the AirTrain to Jamaica then the LIRR - google it, and there are step-by-step instructions. It'll get you to the centre quicker and cheaper than a taxi Hope this helps

Ezs942 The wife and I travelled back from JFK in June on 757 N704X. Also a couple of years ago I flew Delta- Man- ATL- Las Vegas - and returned same route. MAN- ATL and return was 767-300 (Sometimes use 400's) ATL-LAS- 757-2 LAS-ATL- 737-8 I booked all my flights on the Delta website using the Multi trip facility which works out a lot cheaper Happy Days Bob

I did the CO 757 MAN-EWR and return a while back. It was a nightmare both ways. Poor legroom, a less than happy cabin crew and food I wouldn't have given to the dog. On the return, I had the inevitable large American in the seat in front, who two minutes after take-off, put his seat fully back and apart from when the meal was served, and he was asked by the cabin crew to put it upright so that I could eat, left it there. The seat pitch on the CO 757s is awful. It's just a personal opinion, but the 757 was never originally designed to cross the Atlantic, and on the occasions when I've flown more than about three hours in it, I've found it very uncomfortable.

The Delta 757 have a lot more extra legroom, I'm 6'2" tall and I was very comfortable. I know that some of the 757's do not have sufficient legroom and I cannot comment on Continental, but Delta have plenty of legroom. Very impressed with them. Hope this helps Bob
