As mentioned by paravion in Cloudwarrior's thread BA are painting a B757 in the old 'British' colour scheme
I found some more info. on the internet
It looks like we might also see
A319 in BOAC Comet scheme A320 in BEA Trident scheme B777 in BA 'British' scheme
Hope this all proves to be true.
Personally I'd love to see a B777 in the old BOAC colours.

Ian, at Booker they have a Pa-28 Warrior II painted one side in BEA colours and the other in BOAC. It looks great. Beemer.

You'll have to be quick if you want to see this one. It's being painted in these colours to commemorate 17 years loyal service from the type. G-CPET is to be the last and will retire on the 30th October 2010. However, there is a special charter planned for MAN on 6th November. So no doubt another £12 a time day at the AVP www.airplane-pictures.net/news.php?p=820

Think its more than 17 years, my first BA 757 was G-BIKB back in 1983! G-CPET is a mere youngster, being delivered in 1998. Will be good to see the retro scheme GC

The 757 will be doing a flypast at MAN on the 6th november 2010. This is the date for the Ian Allan special end of the 757 flight LHR-LHR.

Not quite sure what all the fuss is about. It was a boring livery when it came out and its still a boring livery now. Compared to the other retro 'European' liveries that are flying at the moment, its just plain. Now if it had painted in BOAC colours, well, that would have been a picture!

When you look at what KLM did with their 737, which I thought looked really good, and BA spent all that money on a repaint which most people won't even notice. The old British European Airways colours would have been most appropriate (since basically it's a short-haul airliner), but the BA management no doubt thought that was a step too far!

I agree also, the BOAC scheme would have been so much more appealing even if it doesn't fit with the current corporate identity. Personally I think the Landor scheme would have been the best compromise, it looks almost regal. The Bristish scheme always struck me as being incomplete!

I think this is more to do with the B757 than a full retro scheme.
This is the scheme that the B757 had when it was delivered and the reason for the respray is the end of B757 services.
I agree that just about any other BA/BOAC/BEA colour scheme would have looked better but I suppose they have a reason for picking this colour even though it is a rubbish scheme.
Most other retro colour schemes were for an anniversary so I suppose this a bit different as it relates to the B757 rather than an airline anniversary.

In May this year, at Paris CDG, I saw what I think was an Air France A320 in retro colours, the one with the thin blue lines along the side and with the very large registration letters we all loved. I wish I had taken a photo. It looked great. RT

This is it F-GFKJ A320, seen at last years Paris Air Salon. A bit crowded to take a decent photo. Regards Beemer.
