I did it chaps/chapesses - I did the impossible - I passed the IFR instrument checkride in FSX
Despite the fact that I've been with BAV for quite a while, it's always good to go back to basics - refresh one's memory & generally brush up on long lost flying skills, so..... over time, I decided to complete the various flying lessons & checkrides that Micros**t had to offer & reached the infamous instrument rating stage with much gusto - which became short lived
ONE year later, after attacking the exam on a near daily basis ( & several times a day !!) I decided that enough was enough & agreed that the general opinion that the rating was impossible - was right, & gave up ( But didn't I hear you say failure isn't an option in your book : Then, a few months ago I decided to hit it again - spending a lot of time reading this tutorial & that tutorial - taking the exam time after the time & blowing it into the bargain Then yesterday, VOILA, I heard those magic words that I thought I would never hear "her" say - "Congratulations - you have passed your checkride" - pure music to my ears - I'll never have to listen to "her" coming out with "I'm sorry - but your gonna have to take that checkride again - check the flight analysis to see where you went wrong" - EVER - WoooHoo ;D
The downer at the end was that the "much coveted" certificate was unprintable (a sting in the tail from Mancy-o-soft !!) but as always - I found a way around it & now it's laminated & adorns my "flight ops" room - onward now to the commercial pilots licence........
Cheers,
