Dave, I think we should leave our loverble red chums alone, on this subject, they are a bit touchy about it. They are ecstatic at the moment about getting their debt payed off to RBS, but what is the underlying debt. I think it is a lot more than 300 million. They have been trying to get rid of Hicks and Gillette (The Yanks) and have got more yanks or so it seems to replace them. I just hope we win or at least not lose on Sunday or we may feel a bit of a backlash. As our chums cannot take the stick, unlike what we have had to put up with for the last 25 years. Happy days Bob Lets play Saaacccer

I heard that Liverpool Airport had changed its strapline from "Above us only sky" to "Below us only Wolves and West Ham" !
Cheers,
Dave

When Tim Cahill scored Evertons first goal this afternoon Liverpools new owner jumped up to celebrate and the interim Liverpool Chairman (RBS Man) turned to him and said "Sir, we are playing in the red" He sat down and did not move for the rest of the game. Happy Days Bob

Every dog has its day or so they say. Evertonians --including the forum boss-enjoy the moment. Liverbirds so quickly become phoenix like after a couple of wins so watch out.LOL No one has EVER describled Liverpool FC as a LIDL club--and they never will. YNWA--roll on the future--I have seen it and its Red.LOL

Evertonians --including the forum boss-enjoy the moment. Have to say, John that I have no current interest in football, apart from what the teams may (or may not) generate in the way of LPL movements. I used to go and watch Liverpool FC in the early 1980s with a friend. I became quite interested, but got fed up eventually! AND - if you have a copy of Brian Labone's testimonial game football programme (circa 1972), you will see a photo in it of me receiving a copy of his book "Defence at the Top" as I was first in the queue at his signing session at WH Smith, Liverpool Central station (no, not the underground one!!) a few years previous. Also present were Jimmy Husband, Gordon West, Joe Royle, Sandy Brown...and others - they all signed the book for me, I still have it somewhere! So, can there be anyone more balanced than me? On second thoughts, don't answer that ;D Cheers, Dave

Quality press today the best being:- BLUE SHIRTS 2 RED SOX 0 (Brilliant) Big rumour going around football circles at the moment is that the new owners are going to change Liverpools name (Seriously) to the LIVERPOOL RED SOX. It's something about having similar brand names. Also they are going to play some of Bostons home baseball fixtures at Anfield. Also Liverpool are going to play a home fixture at Fenway Park. Happy Days Bob

Amongst my collection of football programmes I have a copy of the Brian Labone Testimonial game and I must say, Dave, that you look like an Evertonian to me - you have that slightly bemused look ! I would scan the picture from the programme on to this site but unfortunately it is way beyond my technological abilities.

I would scan the picture from the programme on to this site but unfortunately it is way beyond my technological abilities. Thank goodness for that!! I'm just about to go away for about 2 weeks so I haven't got time to scan my copy either - or the full photo that WHS later presented me as a gift. Cheers, Dave

I have supported the Reds for many years and when I began they were in Div.2(Alan Acourt,Jimmy Melia,Bert Slater et al.--still remember my first game--against the Blues in the Liverpool cup) so when I say I am a supporter I have history(unlilke Chelsea.LOL) So the present difficulties whilst severe are not terminal--enjoy the fun you blues --you have waited so long the dam had to burst sometime.LOL They are still the team I drove from Florence to Basle to watch play a Swiss team in friendly and YNWA is still true for the TRUE suppoters. Watch this space.LOL
