Halfpenny Green hosted a Fly In to commemorate Armed Forces Day - a nine ship formation of Bulldogs and Chipmunks departed to perform a flypast over the National Memorial Arboretum and RAF Cosford.
Apparently the airfield has changed ownership but it is still very enthusiast friendly, just ask at the control tower and remember to take a high viz vest - full airside and hangar access was granted.
If you can remember the cafe here, it no longer exists, a lot of money has been spent upgrading it to Amelia's Bar & Restaurant - now serving up market food at up market prices, and a long wait for your food. Apologies for the pun but it was definitely not "my cup of tea" ... nothing beats a good old bacon or sausage with egg toasty.
