Listened with interest to the interview yesterday morning on Radio Merseyside regarding the introduction into service of a second heli. There was, understandably, much emphasis by their Chief Exec on the fact that they were a charity that needed continuing public support to meet the additional £1.3 million a year running cost this would entail.
I did wonder however just how good her geography was. When asked to give an example as to how the new heli might benefit the people of Merseyside, she cited how much quicker it would now be for them to reach an emergency at Formby.
Now I'm just a bit puzzled about her local geographic knowledge as my own simple mind tells me that the flying time from their existing Blackpool base to Formby is roughly half the time it will take to get there from Barton where their new addition will be based.

Perhaps she was working with femine logic deducing that if the BPL based one might be at Oulton Park, which is a regular call-out, that would mean she timed the trip from Barton to Formby as an example. Can`t you tell I am married
