Substantial airframes of:
"G-AJCL" DH.89A Dragon Rapide in front of hotel (BAPC.180)
G-AMLZ P.50 Prince 6E under restoration with Jetstream Club, pale grey primer. Engines and tail (but not rudder) attached.
G-ANCF B.175 Britannia 308F under restoration. Fuselage now one complete section, but still at ground level.
G-CCTL Robinson R.44 arrived during afternoon, too late for pleasure flying duties. Helicentre.
G-JMAC BAe Jetstream 41 Jetstream Club
G-SEXY AA-1 Yankee Jetstream Club, no canopy in position
G-XMII Eurocopter EC.135T Merseyside Police arr 1145 ish
Nose & cockpit sections of:
WV838/182 H. Sea Hawk FGA.6 802 Sqdn badge
unknown H. Sea Hawk FGA.4 red paint/bare metal - in early stages of restoration. Ejector seat marked WV831, but is not from this aircraft!
XE584 H.Hunter F.6 gloss black finish 'Black Arrows' colours
XR654 H. Jet Provost T.4 red/white trainer colours, 'Mawcaws' aerobatic team logo
Also instrument panels from XN549 a Jet Provost T.3 and ZD938 a Tornado F.2, but not the whole nose section.
Much lower key affair than last year. Weather was better though, with the threatened rain holding off - despite a bleak forecast on the BBC that morning!
Incidently, the owner of the Sea Hawk nose is looking for an identity. For past 20 years or so it has been stored in a private garage near Bath. Was with the South Wales Aircraft Preservation Society before their demise. It was they who painted it overall red. However it is neither WV831 (complete aircraft recently at Bruntingthorpe, now Dunsfold) or WV795 (complete aircraft now in Malta) which SWAPS also had at Cardiff. So far the constructors number has not helped to help 'fix' it to a serial. Recent extensive correspondance on the 'Flypast' forum has not yet helped either!
