Now here's an article about pirates attacking an Italian cruise ship. The response from the crew in my opinion was well justified and like many of the passengers they saved from an uncertain fate, I would say are hero's. However, should this have been a British ship would they have been seen a villains? Could they have been, arrested on reaching port and charged with attempted murder, discharging an offensive weapon in public or possessing an offensive weapon? news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8019084.stm

As they are in international waters would anyone have the right to press charges? To my mind, these pirates when caught, should disappear without trace!!!

Huge area to cover though so 20 ships doesnt really count for a lot.

Idlewild. The gunboat diplomacy is the one I'd go for but unfortunately there are too many people afraid to stick their heads above the parapit these days. PC rules the roost I'm afraid. It's funny how these MP's etc. seem to loose the PC when it comes to claiming expenses! ;D
