Drove past earlier and the framework for the panels in the field at the end of 27 now looks to be fairly complete. Looking at the direction they appear to be aligned to face south east. I would have thought that facing South west would be the optimum direction. I have solar panels at home and back of house faces south west so they generate power generally from about midday until sunset. Also the direction they face I wonder if they will create glare for landing aircraft on 27 ( assuming they ever use 27 again!!) has anyone else noticed this?

Would imagine any glare would depend on the paint colour/materials used.

Our solar panels also face south and west, the number of panels facing each direction ensure maximum generation.

The panels are supposed to generate 25% of the airports power so they say!

Size of the array will undoubtedly generate a lot of power, it was the direction they face that I was questioning. I’m sure the powers that be will have worked it out.
