Local residents have been working to get Bailey's Lane closed to through traffic for some time and as far as I know proposals for gating the road are being progressed. Not so sure about Dungeon Lane and Oglet Lane though. It would probably solve alot of anti social behaviour problems around there including frequent fly tipping.

Will they be building a car park to allow people to access the shoreline by foot as I believe this could be a public right of way? Should this be the case, Peel may have to provide the public with an alternative means of getting to it.

This was always going to be the case with the planned runway extension but obviously has come sooner than expected. How are the Air Traffic controllers going to get across out of interest now?

There was talk of blocking off this road when i was at LJLA and i left over 4yrs ago, so things dont move that fast at LJLA. The talk then was to block off Dungeon lane after the GA site as far as the junction with Bailys lane, so leaving access to the tower and houses in Oglet lane.

Dungeon Lane is not the entrance to Hale lighthouse.

Baileys Lane will be closed off completely, , to vehicular traffic within the next few months, at the request of the residents of the Lane. A new gate of sorts, will be put in place at either end to prevent those on quad bikes and 4x4's recking the place along speeding cars and unwanted wagons.. Baileys Lane, I understand,, will be cleaned up and made into a more habitable area for the residents. The lane will be closed off at the areas near the little triangle where the horses grase/exercise and just before the junction with Dungon Lane.
