For those interested in buses (me included) I was in my local town on Saturday, Stourbridge in the black country. Present was an old Alexander bodied Leyland Atlantean delivered to the MPTE In 1975, still going strong and still with its orginal Leyland engine. Looks good, and still has all its original cast number plates ( I did ask if I could have one, but he was a little reluctant) GKA24N fleet number 1599. Based in the Worcester area and a mobile playbus. I did manage a half decent pic on my phone, but as it was raining and with the number of people its not the best. I believe it was a Laird Street allocated bus, so some of you Wirral based may have travelled on it! Nice to see a blast from the past and still sounding good
Hope this is of interest to some

Ste, thanks for that, and the same destination on my pic last week too! Pity its not Huyton or Page Moss, my old haunts! Now if it showed 75 Huyton that would be a turn up!
The owner isn't a great enthusiast but obviously knows Penny Lane will get people looking!

Looks just like the Ribble Atlanteans I worked on as a student in the late 60s. Very comfortable to be in and well loved by passengers and crew alike--nice photo.
