Hi Guys.
In November i went out to Nepal to do the Everest Base Camp trek on behalf of a childrens cancer charity that i am heavilly involved with, the charity was set up by friends who had lost children to Neuroblastoma - a very high risk cancer that affects children, mainly under 5 years old, i lost my only son to it in Oct 2006. While over in Nepal i flew into the "world famous Lukla airport" - that was fun - lol, while there was not much time for logging i did manage to log this lot at various points durin the trip.
We set out from LHR from T4 on 15th Nov on Jet Airways flight 9W 0121 VT-JEK, a 9 1/2 hour overnight flight to Delhi, a reasonable flight, very comfy seats and lovely food but IFE a bit limited.Logged at LHR -

G-YMMT BA 777
LZ-FBE Bulgaria Air 320

SU-GDS Egypt 330
VT-JEK Jet 777 - our flight out
On arrival at Delhi we had over 90 mins to get to our connecting flight to Kathmandu - more than enough time we though - unfortunatly Delhi's poor infrasructure made that time soon dissapear. We docked at gate 10 - our flight out was at gate 11 next to us but we had to trek 2KM ( yes - 2 kilometers) to the transfer security desk to be checked, now im all for as much security as possible on airliners but delhi needs a good wake up call - the queues were ridiculous and made worse by the shocking lack of organization - so next time your stuck at security i can tell you that here in the UK we are brilliant at it compared to some places, all it needs is a little organization. The airport itself looks amazing, lots of new terminal buildings and lots of space, not nuch chance to log anything though before we jumped on to out Jet Light flight to KTM flight no S2 0501 VT-SJH, just these few logged -
HS-TJD Thai 777 ****
VT-PPK Air India A321 ****
VT-SJH Jet Light 737 **** - flight to KTM
80 minutes later we were at KTM, with this place being so small there was no room for the aircraft to dock so we sat on the runway for 45 mins waiting, once we moved we taxied past these -
A9C-BAW A319 Bahrain Air ****
A5-RGF A319 Druk Air
HS-TJE 777 Thai ****
There was lots parked on the domestic ramp which i managed to log on later days plus many wrecks parked all around the airport.
On the 18th Nov we set of from KTM to Lukla to start the Everest Trek, up at 4 to get the first flight to Lukla, flight delayed by several hours due to poor weather both at KTM and Lukla ( fog) - this lot logged at Lukla while taxying

Landing is done uphill with cross winds from the mountains and you land towards a mountain - no chance of go arounds here, its land OK or BANG ( as we were to see later on)
On arrival at Lukla there was
