Second and last part of logs gathered whilst on my trek to Everest Base Camp.
We set of back to the UK on 2nd Dec, due to leave Kathmandu at 10.30AM then to Delhi for a Jet Airways 1.30PM flight to LHR but it didnt all go to plan. For some reason all the Delhi flightd into Kathmandu this morning were delayed, there was some fog/cloud/smog about but it cleared around 9PM. Time went by and still no Delhi flights and now it was 11AM, by now there were lots of people looking for help and worried about onward connecting flights but no one at the airport seemed to be able to help - in the end i phoned home ( woke my mrs up at 3AM) and got her to ring Jet airways. Eventually someone turned up and said that there were 72 people connecting to LHR so the inbound Jet airways Mumbai flight would be swapped to delhi so we could all jump on it and get our connection. Now you may be sat there wondering why am i rabbiting on about this - well if you have ever sat at LHR and seen the Jet 777's come in very late this is the reason - apparently these delays with Delhi connecting flights are common place, when i asked why all the Delhi flights to KTM were not coming in i simply got told "this is what happens here". So it was now 1.30PM and VT-JGS arrived from Mumbai to take us to Delhi. WE had already been security checked but due to Delhi's strict security measures we were told we would be checked on the tarmac again by Indian staff so that we could save time at Delhi ( hahaha - more of this later ). This is the log of stuff taxing past while waiting at KTM ( no duplicates from previous days)

90 Mins later we were in Delhi - by now we were 3 hours late but still people were just wandering slowly onto the connecting LHR flight, we parked opposite our departing Jet 777 and then we were dumb founded to be told we had to trek the 2KM to transfer security even though we had been checked 3 times in all at KTM and one of those by Air India staff on the tarmac at KTM.
Eventually we boarded VT-JEH flight no 9W122 to LHR 4 hours late. This lot were seen taxying, there was a lot more but reg's difficult to read off - plenty of Air India/SpiceJet/Jet and Jet light, VIM 757, antonovs, and lots of Biz.

Another very pleasant Jet airways flight, comfy seats, very nice food - all they have to do is get some variety on the IFE. On arrival at LHR we found out it had been snowing for several days while we had been baking in 30 -40 degree heat in the mountains. We had a go around due to previous flight not clearing the runway quickly enough but with the falling snow one or two passengers got extremly nervous thinking it was weather related and we might have to divert. So we eventually landed at 9PM, when we were due at 5.40PM, next time your at LHR and see the Jet 777's coming in late - now you know why - lol.
We were met by a big crowd of well wishers and supporters of our charity and it was off to the Heathrow Arial Hotel for an overnight stop for me and a few welcome pints :-)

A cracking morn at LHR with some real gap fillers for me
And that was that - 210KM trekked, 18,000ft altitude climbed, Delhi airport security survived - lol, and some nice frames in the bag. If anyone gets the chance i would greatly recommend the base camp trek, its an amazing experience. As for the spotting, in this part of the world it can be a bit dodgy but with care and discretion some really good numbers can be put in the book. All i got to do now is decide what to climb in 2011.
