Did a double-take on a formation of two Hawks both with same serial and squadron code. Eventually spotted the join - don't think the formation arrangement was deliberate, but it got my blood circulating for a few moments. I remember the days when a rare serialled RC-135 would arrive at Mildenhall late evening and by the next morning the 'very common' one would be parked in that same spot. There were rumours too of 'serial fixing' on the U-2 and SR-71 visits to Europe - for a moment then, thought the RAF had just been caught out doing the same by Cityflier!!
Nice one! Actually a nice series of images. Looks like Prestwick of old - are such moments with 6 American Forces aircraft of 3 types in 2 hours that frequent, or did you chance upon a very rare moment?

Some good cops there, Cityflyer. Looks more like an American airbase than a civilian airport. Regards Beemer.

I understand one of the Spang F-16's diverted in as it was poorly.....and his wing man went with him!!! Been an absolute age since I last visited Prestwick.......looks like I'm overdue.....might have to arrange a roadtrip north of the border sometime soon!!!!

The F16 divert was shown on a radar trace on this forum and due to fuel problems on the aircraft whilst en route back to USA. Superb set of shots ans made the visit worthwhile.
