As this is going to be the last visit, I thought it a good idea to have photo of HMS Liverpool on the forum to match in with HMS Manchester. Interesting to note her Sea Dart missiles are not on the launchers unlike Manchester when she was in earlier this month. JJ Attachments:

Manchester has posession of the Sea Darts for the first 6 months and then Liverpool has them for the last 6 months of the year, except in time of conflict and deployment to anywhere near a nasty place. HMS Liverpool is a scouse ship so didnt need them, however HMS Manchester by name would need them.

She did have them on the launchers when she arrived but were taken off once the ship was tied up. There is all kinds of activites going on today down at the Pier head including a tug of war competion with the police fire and navy

Can only presume they had them off for a bit of "spit and polish" as my photo was taken at 15.29pm, and we now photos of her arriving with them on and replaced later in the day seems strange to remove them for a short time.

Entirely speculation. Would they, perhaps, have changed real 'live' ones in place when at sea on active duty, with inert 'show' ones for safety while in port ?

She came off the stae about Half 12 phil. Pulled off the stage anf turned by tugs into the river with Music Provided by the terminal and the ferry. Nice blast of her horn to salute the city then seconds later the ferry returned with a few blasts of her own horns
