"And bleating on about the past Labour Govt, which I didnt vote for by the way, doesnt answer the question about wether or not 4 squadrons of Typhoons will do anything to stop innocent British people being killed by a terrorist."
That is painfully obvious, however replacing proper police officers with PCSO and Specials, cutting the police budgets by millions not employing new officers and relaxing terror restrictions, adhering to European rules on HR and CL`s SOLEY becaue there is NO MONEY left won`t do anything either. Thankfully most of my working life had been involved in work which prevented personal political allegiences.

Graz Their probably doing the lads a favour. Why risk wasting a life when a drone can do the same job a little cheaper and possibly more accurately. Although we will probably nead interceptors for some time to come it looks like new technology is going to reduce the RAF to a mainly transport role. Lets also look on the bright side, the RAF will still be recruiting pilots in the not too distant future and those that have just been made redundant will no doubt be trained well in advance of the PPL requirement. At the rate the loco's are expanding I'm sure most of them wont be sitting on their backsides for long. That goes for the engineers too. If were going to feel sorry for someone it's the pen pushers who are going to be hardest hit. Alex, Your probably right. I've been looking to see what fixed wing strike aircraft we have that are capable of landing on a French carrier without too much alteration and (although I'll probably be corrected here) I think it's only the Hawk. So, it's either (as you appear to imply) not been very well thought out or it's just another political PR stunt promoting inter European co-operation/integration. Darren, Eeeeeerm, after giving it my full consideration and searching through the depths of my mind/sole I think I may have stumbled across the answer. I worked it out mathematically and found that somewhere along the line, in order to get the true outcome, the equation has to be multiplied by zero. Hope this helps

Argggggggggggggggggg you have to be joking, feeling sorry for pen pushers, thought that they were a major contributing factor which lead to the mess we are now in.
