Just found out that ProBoards (the hosts of this forum) have an app for the iphone, ipod touch and I think ipad.
You can download it to your device via the appstore. Search for 'ProBoards'. It cost £1.79 but list all the ProBoards forums. We're under the 'Travel' category.
Note that at the moment it appears that you can only view existing threads and post replies. You can't start new ones!
Cheers,
Paul

John, How is the Galaxy ? behaving would be interesting to know as mine is a pain in the preverbial, with force closures, pathetic battery life and freezes totally when it feels like it. Apart from that it is a good idea.

biggles, what version is the andriod system,i think planeplotter and flightradar works best on 2.1 and above i have a samsung gt-15500 using andriod 2.1. and works fine on the wi-fi system a bit costly on the phone calls ( data charge) . try stopping some of the applications you have running see if that helps? steve

I've got the HTC Desire with Android 2.1 I've uploaded planefinder (small cost) and it works pretty well. Like a lot of users, my main gripe is the really poor battery life. I need to charge it overnight every night; it wont last more than 24 hours Kev

Thanks guys, I add m using Android 2.2 on my Galaxy, I have to add the last upgrade issued by pinkfroot for the planefinder App seems to have cured most of my problems especially with multiple traces for one aircraft and then a freeze and force close. I never got the same problems using FlightRadar24 on the Galaxy, but that app is not as detailed as PF. One other point of interest for gizmo geeks is that some of the Andoid E Tablets are unable to upgrade to the latest andriod firmwares which is a pain, as these app need the higher FW upgrades.

Well, I have taken some comfort in discovering that I am not the only Samsung user with a poor battery life. I have a Samsung Galaxy Europa and the first thing I had to do after starting to use it was get a car charger because the battery gets chewed up quickly. Especially on a clear day and I am getting the flyovers. I am on the road all week and move around London, Yorkshire, Manchester and Somerset areas. FR24 is used to devastating effect.
Keep looking skywards. lol.
Cheers John 'flightpath'.

Had my GalaxyS well over a year now. Had a HUGE problem back in December when it wouldnt take a charge!!! Sent it back, and spent a week without a mobile......that was different! Now the battery seems to be a little better, unless I spend hours on Angry Birds that is! :-) She is now on firmware version 2.3.5.
