Interesting Stuff , when we just used to have Film it hangs around forever in shoe boxes in the attic , but putting your eggs into one basket like these sites , you could lose all your archive in one go .
Even your own backup hard drives can die on you . luckily all my old stuff is 35mm in my loft , but I have notice a deteriation in quality of the celluloid recently especially the colour negs .
