Going on a holiday in September, visiting;- Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops and Calgary.
Can anyone give me some good vantage points as I have on average about 4 hours stopovers between flights?
Any good enthusiasts web sites would be appreciated at those airfields.
Thanks
Paul

Any good enthusiasts web sites would be appreciated at those airfields. Thanks Paul I have visted all the airports you mention, except Kamloops,As I do not collect regs myself,I can only give you the following info. At Vancouver intl,a good place is near the seaplane base,as YVR does get a lot of interesting visitors, its not unusual to see a fire bomber (Connair dc6,s and Firecats)come in for fuel for example also I have seen Sikorsky skycranes helicopters, as well as the expected airliners, but do visit the seaplane base at YVR,it has a nice coffee shops and also Coal harbour in the downtown area is a major seaplane base at Vancouver place,(I flew in a Baxter aviation Beaver from there also a West coast Twin otter to Vancouver Island),witch also a has a seaplane base in the harbour at Victoria.I flew into Victoria Airport in an Horizon dash 8 from Seattle one time. but I dont remember a great deal of activity, there were a few fire bomber aircraft(firecats)the Martin mars, flying boats on Sproat lake, are no longer there. As for Calgary there were a lot of dash8,s being reworked(Bombardier have a facility here) and also Kenn Borek air are here, they deal with many DHC types such as the Twin otter,Beaver, but again cant help with spotting areas, hope this helps in some way,and enjoy your trip.

I think one of the Lpool ATC guys took a post at a Canadian Airfield not that long ago, not sure if he is still on the forum in its new guise. could be useful if he is, to your questions.
