On a recent visit to Rotterdam,I had time to tour, the permanently moored liner the SS Rotterdam, formely of Holland America line, the liner serves as a 5 star hotel, but tours are available.with the liner being almost unchanged from her transatlantic glory days, hope you enjoy the photos, The mainstaircase between the decks, everything is as it was when the liner last sailed,t The very nice sundeck area, The bridge, with all equipment still present, the ship navigation room, just off the bridge, has still got its original decca navigation and radio and telegraph equipment. Its a pity we cannot sustain a major liner as a hotel/attraction here in Liverpool, although the maintenace costs would be extreamly high,it would be a great visual attraction on the city waterfront.

Nice Photo's I agree a Liner /Hotel on the Mersey 'lit up' would make the Liverpool river front look spectacular. John

Jordan, you're right. The Emirati in Dubai are trying to sell the QE2. Its been tied up in their docks since arriving a couple of years ago with nothing done to it at all. What a shame. Ian.

Yes forgot about the QE2,now that would be nice,I dont think there is a 5 star plus hotel yet in Liverpool,so why bother building one,can you can moor one near the Albert/Pierhead,now all we need is the financial backers LOL.
