Noted today at Rosehill, which is on the A41 south of Ternhill in Shropshire, was L-29 Delphin "53" red. This has the number 66654 on the rear fuselage and is recently arrived from Retro Aviation at Hinstock. Although there are no markings to show which Air Force it served with, 'WR21' indicates it is ex Romanian AF. The colour scheme is grey with '53' in red below the cockpit. The only other marking is a black scorpion on the fin & a black star between the wing trailing edge and the airbrake. It appears to be in very good condition with seats and instrumentation, & according to the local paper is for resale.

Certainly, take A41 south from Ternhill island were it has a junction with A53. Go past Ternhill airfield (on your right). Rosehill is about 1 1/2 miles past the airfield. When you see the place sign for Rosehill then turn right and park on the left, you cannot miss it. Hope this helps.

Why do they all do that? A small detour is just that......maybe a drive around Van Nuys......its not THAT big an airfield!!!!

`53` is c/n 395189.
66654 is a false serial, all L-29s have 9 as the 2nd digit out of six.53 is a genuine Romanian mil id(similar to a Russian bort number).
As of 20May it had `For Sale` in the cockpit. As it is over 10 years old I wonder if the government will allow it to be traded-in for a new one ;D

It was on Ebay as I mentioned recently elsewhere price started at £19500, I am however reliably informed the L29 is not allowed to fly in UK. I have no idea why, but info came from a guy who has flown one in US.
