Nice collection of old favourites. I presume the QANTAS 747 was a divert. I dont remember them having scheduled flights into MAN, or have the passing years dimmed the memory?

I think Qantas used to have a regular service and I also remember seeing their 747SP's there on a regular basis.

I remember flying on a QANTAS 747 on a 1 hour pleasure flight from MAN. It flew over the Liverpool Garden Festival site, then over the IOM, then over the lake district and then returned. The flight ticket destination was Pseudo City!!! I dont recall QANTAS operating SPs,

Although I did not spot @ Ringway in the early 1980's the colours brought back memories of what I used to see @ Glasgow & Prestwick where i also saw the Space shuttle

Qantas used to op 2 x 747sp's ,but to my knowlage ,nither every came to Manchester. Of course photo prove will prove me wrong. Just stumbled across this site and although there are no photos it does mention Qantas Boeing 747-238/338 and 747 SP being ferried to Dublin from Sydney mainly via Manchester. The period would also tie in with the time I saw one there. Is there any way of checking for movements of SP's VH-EAA or B during 1989/90? If so, I'm sure we will find it there. www.ianmullen.net/2009/03/quantas-in-dublin.html
