All, just a quickie if someone can help.
I was based in Cyprus for 3 years in the early 80's and visited Larnaca airport on dozens of occasions. Not the busiest then but thankfully I saw some great stuff, TAROM IL-18's, as well as Interflug 18's, and IL62's etc. Also Syrian Arab Caravelles. The problem is as a "young" skint serviceman then I only had a cheap camera, and never took many pics of said aircraft! Also, a "resident" of the airport then was N19CA an impounded DC-6
I'd love to see if anyone on tbe forum has pics of Larnaca circa 1980-83. and those aircraft and anything else like the Cyprus BAC 1-11's. Which I had the pleasure of flying to and from Athens on.
and also, I saw whilst I was there many strange things, including P552 a North Korean TU-154 which I believe is still flying, and Indian Air Force Jaguars on delivery, supported by Antonovs. Also, lastly, I saw in 1981-82 a IL-76 in full ALIA Jordanian airlines livery, blacked out windows and no reg etc. I've been unable to find anything about this aircraft and any IL-76's ALIA had or used! I rememebr the aircraft well as I was there collecting air cargo from a BA Tristar and was watching, in full uniform! complete with beret through my biinoculars when I had an AK-47 stuffed in my face and was taken away by the Cypriot Police to be handed to the RAF Police wanting to know what I was doing! I'd be intruiged to know what it was and if anyone has pics of an IL-76 in ALIA colours
sorry to be a bit vague, but here's hoping!
Thanks
Bob

Hi Bob, I know it's the wrong airport but here's a shot of an Air Koryo Tu154. Grabbed shot from hotel window, departing into typical Beijing clag! GC
