Hi Ian, there are some good shots in there, and some pretty interesting aircraft too!!
Last time I was at Naples......far more years than I care to think about, we were waiting to fly back to LGW on a BEA Airtours Tristar......that ages me! And while we were sitting at the gate lounge, I saw an F-14 taxy out, then do a full afterburner take off towards where we were!! Never found out the reg for it!
The G-222's look like the embargoed Libyan airforce ones, they've been there for years, the tail marks look like the ones that were there! I'll have a search for the Nigerian one for you!

A good collection of aircraft and photos. I know these were from a while ago but I want to know a little more about Naples. I am going to be passing through Naples latter this year and want to know what it is like. I can only go through the terminal, is there anywhere to view/photograph?, or is it all outside or on the plane?

Some nice rare military beasties there Not photographed at Naples (have been there, but it was a while ago now)....However, any airfield with a lot of Italian AF involvement will deter photography from outside the fence....It certainly wasn't an option at Pisa airport last year .mic

Hi David
Most of these were taken either through the window on the plane or whilst waiting at the gate.
We didn't have much time at the airport so I didn't have time to look around. We flew with First Choice and they seemed to use the same gate which did have limited views across the apron.
Sorry I can't be much help
Ian

Thanks for the info, I'll only be passing through the terminal, but with Easyjet. I was just interested since I knew I'd be visiting but I didn't know much about the airport
Thanks again David

Hello Ian
Thats a good selection of interesting stuff you saw at Naples.
When I worked for Emerald we had a contract for a 5 nights a week Alitalia postal flight between Rome and Naples. It was always pretty quiet at the times we were there.
My most vivid memory of my first flight into Naples was popping out beneath the cloud and seeing the huge volcano that appeared to be (but isn't really) just south of the approach. Oh and the Italian ATC talking to us in Italian because we were on an Alitalia callsign ....needless to say they didn't get much response from this Mancunian!
Cheers
Shaun
