Chatting today with someone associated with the Global Launch of the Evoque, he told me that world journalists are being brought by private jets into RAF Valley, they will then collect a new Evoque and drive back a route to Liverpool, the drive will then on arrival take them down the Wapping Tunnels which LR have blasted an access opening into and a road has been laid to allow the convoy to drive in darkness along the tunnel and exiting at Wapping Dock.

and then hopefully the tunnel will be bricked up once and for all with the jounalists still inside.

Seems all the road tests I have seen including the dreaded Top Gear have nothing but praise for the new model, with the exception that is of the two door model. Price at base level is still high as usual. There is already a 2 year waiting list for a new model I am told which by my experience of new range rovers will be about the right time to buy one when all the new glitches are sorted.

Spotted six of the new Range Rovers in convoy with minibus at the back @ 09:00, all doing about 30mph on the Speke Boulevard heading towards the M57.
I don't know if it was Press or a delivery.
They are a cracking car to look at.

they will be production cars on a road test as they have a 5 or 25 mile road test and most of the time a minibus follows them

Hardly a design classic - from behind it looks like it's been stood on.
And do we really need another over-priced over-sized 'off-roader'.

Maverick,How else can their owners get to the garage if they 'don't go off-road'?

"And do we really need another over-priced over-sized 'off-roader'."
Of course we do, how the heck do I get to Asda or Tesco stores, and it is hardly over sized compared to other types.

its the same size as its cousin the freelander which its based on plus you dont need a fuel tanker with this one. the basic model is only 2 grand more than the freelander so its not exactly overpriced plus if you get top of the rnage it has all kinds of bells whistels and what ever else plus it can park itself

Self parking is probably rather necessary, I for one, would not like to reverse a vehicle with such a high and narrow rear window and rear side windows on a regular basis. I agree with Dave, that from the rear the design seems oddly proportioned and far from flattering, certainly does not match the glam "look" as seen from the front.
For the good of the Halewood plant hope they continue to sell after the initial launch 'hype' orders have all been produced in 20-24 months time.
