Can anyone advise the cheapest and simplest way of getting a replacement key fob (three button type) for a 99 focus ?
The central locking works fine when primed manually but none of the three function buttons on the fob work, making me suspect the actual fob buttons or innards of the fob have failed. Any advice would be welcome.
Bill.

Taken it apart, cleaned it as well as I can and had a new button cell installed - all to no avail. I think after 12 yrs the fobs probably given up, so looks like a new one is on the cards, only problem is Im not going to waste money with a Ford dealership so any ideas as to a cheapish working replacement would be welcome guys.

Some Reputable locksmiths have the ability to clone a new key for you, I know one I use in Moreton Wirral does the new car keys.

Hi Bill what you need to do is find/use a key fob tester which picks up the signal as you press the fob. Did it stop working all of a sudden or gradually got worse ? Where abouts are you ?
Brian.....
PS when changing batteries on these you only get a short time to remove old and refit new.
