Good morning, well does anyone from the North West ever visit Luton ? Living where I do, Luton is my local commercial airport. It has changed a lot in the last 20 years, not for the good for enthusiasts. I remember going to Luton and there were a good crowd of enthusiasts there, always a friendly lot and we used to be able to park by the fence opposite the fire station, viewing was brilliant.
On the other hand, my local Airfield is Cranfield, always busy with small aircraft, they do pilot training as well, so if your interest is smaller planes, it is an ideal place. They do have a plane there which is called "Metman" and it flies for weather purposes and when they had the Ash cloud which grounded commercial flights, Metman was going up to judge the state of the ash over theUK.

There are some brilliant "pics" in another thread taken at Luton by the member. Enjoyable to look at indeed.
