Hi. Here is the details of the Blimp so you can track it: This the one that has been at Cardington: G-HLEL Hex:4064E8. Named 'Spirit of Safety 1' Some photo's on Flickr. www.flickr.com/photos/58269243@N04/5543664946/It's at Birmingham (Half Penny Green) 1st and 2nd of April, so it might travel up to Barton late Saturday. There is also one being operating in France Named 'Spirit of Safety 2', as there are two of them touring Europe. If your interested in blimps, you will find this very interesting. www.skytamer.com/2.6.3.htmMike / Speedird

Is the Blimp that's been operating in France actually French registered? I'd got in my mind it was US reg'd? GC

Done a bit of digging and managed to find out they are both new builds built at Cardington. They 150ft long, 50ft shorter than the American counterparts. Thanks Mike
I don't think they're particularly new builds, G-HLEL was 1995 and G-TLEL was 1990.
I logged 'TLEL at Halfpenny Green in 2003 but still need 'HLEL, be interesting to see which one pitches up at Barton.

I am not to clued up on Blimps, but looking at this video it does look new, maybe the Reg. has been re-used. cardington.weebly.com/latest-cardington-news.htmlIf you like Blimps, there are some fantastic nostalgic photos on the BLIMP CREW TAVERN Facebook wall. There are over 3000 photos. www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=117325408284330&v=photosMike / Speedbird

Update from Goodyear UK on Facebook: www.facebook.com/GoodyearUK"We are hoping to make our way to Barton airfield in Manchester this afternoon ahead of the man city vs sunderland tomorrow. 3 hours ago via iPhone · Like · Comment" @ 18:55 Here's the latest update from Cardington Airship Station. "Goodyear's spirit of safety 2 is still not out, just drove past the sheds sat the 2nd April 2011 and still no blimp out yet, however the mooring mast is up and ready for the ship so as soon as the wind dies down the door will open and the ship will pop out and get ready for her tour of Europe. there are pictures of the finished SOS2 out there though find a few here on the facebook groups pictures www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=117325408284330&v=photos , she's looking good." It looks like G-HLEL will be the one coming to Barton. Twitter update: it will travel up Barton tomorrow. ( Don't shot the messenger ). Update: According to Halfpenny Green Airport Website it's traveling up to Barton today ( Sunday ). Mike / Speedbird
