Hi Beemer,
I'm curious as to whether this is the same SeaKing which visited LPL on Monday afternoon.
This departed over my house but the cloud base was too low for me to see it.
It was using call-sign "Rescue (SRG)122" which would normally be a yellow 22 Squadron aircraft and this one definitely returned to RAF Valley where these are based.
Were there two SeaKings in the zone at very similar times and if so what were they up to?
Cheers,Keith

Having at last followed the path of this thread which I had missed when I posted my request about the Sea King I saw on Monday afternoon passing New Brighton very low under the clag, it was definitely a Yellow Rescue model and not a RN version.

Having at last followed the path of this thread which I had missed when I posted my request about the Sea King I saw on Monday afternoon passing New Brighton very low under the clag, it was definitely a Yellow Rescue model and not a RN version. Biggles, The Daily Post for yesterday reported that a Sea King from RAF Valley came to the aid of a seaman who had been crushed onboard his vessel in the Mersey just before 12pm on the 21st. He was airlifted to Fazakerley Hospital and the heli presumably then visited LPL to refuel before returning to Valley. I don't have an i/d for it yet, but this would certainly be what you saw, as opposed to the transit RN one. HTH, Cheers, Dave
