The local electronic signs now say that there will be overnight works and lane closures on the bridge until "late February". They do not mention any weekend daytime restrictions, which have been a significant problem recently. Hopefully this means those of us who have to cross the Mersey to do our spotting (or even work!) will not be inconvenienced so much for the next few months. We shall see.

Yes Keith it looks like it finally goodbye to the weekend lane closures at least till February 2012. No more need to use rat runs to avoid the bulk of the traffic which didn,t always work. Regards Beemer.

Cycled over it twice today, I know there working underneath the bridge but also didn't see any signs of any Roadworks until 2012

Aviationcafe, there is a matrix sign outside Starbucks on the Daresbury expressway, approaching the bridge, that says basically " night time lane closures till February" Regards Beemer.

Thanks for that Beemer, I've seen the sign many a times over the years but with cycling over there today I completely missed it!
