VUEZ has got two flights out of here today, the move might have something to do with the extended opening hours.

Andrew don't you mean APEM was the first Most likely reason's for the move are the operating costs associated with having your business located at Liverpool. The company had been downsizing in recent Weeks letting pilots and staff go.

AD Aviation have had a number of bases over the years. On purchase of their first Citation it was briefly based at Manchester with Ravenair aircraft management. AD Aviation moved across to Liverpool with Ravenair July 1998, although without hangarage and executive handling facilities here, they soon moved out to Hawarden. The AD Group is based at Daresbury, so presumably a base near to Chester suited them just as well, although the restricted hours and access through security did not. The day that Ravenair opened their first hangar with associated executive lounge at Liverpool in December 2001, AD Aviation returned to Liverpool, and it was one of their Citations that was the first aircraft to be 'rolled-in' to the new facility. AD Aviation, with at maximium 3 Citations provided a service both for the owners and directors of the AD Group, but also for ad hoc and contract hire. As such they occupied an important 'niche' at LJLA being the only resident company offering jet charter. From casual observation their aircraft did not seem to be so active over the past months. Certainly the loss of one of the aircraft at Birmingham November '10 shook the company. It could well be that with a greater proportion of their flights being on behalf of the AD Group they are moving to Chester, in response to the longer business hours, possible lower costs and improving facilities at Hawarden. As the sole operator offering business jet hire from Liverpool they will be missed. However the business opportunity is now open for an enterprising company to move-in and link up with Liverpool Aviation Services and Ravenair and take advantage of their excellent facilities on the GA. As of the 2nd February 2012 their website on www.ad-aviation.co.uk has not been amended recently, indeed without indication of alteration since December 2010 (apart from addition of a pop-up offering fractional ownership of a CJ2).

The main reason Ad Aviation has moved to Chester is basically because Apem have joined AD's AOC. Chester is slightly cheaper but they can share the same facilities under one roof.
With Apem being a big rival to Ravenair it didn't make sense to hangar their aircraft within Ravenairs hangar Regards Beemer.
