Wow!!!!Saw the passenger version take off at Heathrow from a distance--no camera in those days alas I deeply regret the convergentevolution that seems to make all jets underslung twins these days--even the A340 is on iys way out. Brilliant photo of a very NON boring aircraft.Thanks.

Thanks for that Dave. I will have to work out now what year I went as most of my info went the same way as the first Mrs Beemer. Regards Beemer.

One of the years that a 'Bear' was at Fairford, was the year that the two Russian fighters collided and the pilots ejected - although the weather that day was considerably drier than that in Cityflyer's photo! Does that help jog Beemer's little grey cells?

Does that help jog the little grey cells? Viscount, The picture was taken on the day that the 2 Mig 29's collided, It started off very wet with heavy rain. As the day went on the weather cleared up & the Sun Came Out. With the weather being Sunny with Scattered Cloud @ 15.31 when the accident took place. By that time I was on the Photo Bus and I will show the resulting shots later, as I have not uploaded them to Photobucket Yet! Reguards

In that case I have seen them both as I saw the two Migs collide and I was with different mates when I saw the other. ;D Regards Beemer.

Surprised the remains never vanished back to USSR after such an accident, let alone end up in a UK Museum.

I believe there are lots of bits of MiG in various cupboards all over the place. Certainly there used to be at Fairford.
As to the Bears:
20 was c/n 34108 and came from Mozgok or so they said!
23 was c/n 34379 and came from 182Heavy Bomber Regt
