I'm hearing an inbound on LPL approach freq, sounds possibly military (as in wearing a mask), I just cannot catch the callsign... (1103 hrs local)
Edit: Y421 (SAR Helicopter??)

I did later make visual contact, and photos, of Stobart 04, so it wasn't him. Y421 sounded big-ish.

That heli would have been Navy Y421.He had been speaking to Hawarden and was looking for a divert airfield.Heard him go over the top but not visible through gloom. newpin

The visibility at Manchester has just plumetted to 400M. G-ECOM BEE1036 from Aberdeen to Manchester is diverting in.

I also heard a Military Helicopter hidden above or in cloud this morning over Wallasey heading towards Liverpool sounded like a Lynx to my ears but cant confirm anything really.

Down at the 27 undershoot at sunset. Met 'clifftop'.
He passed on the information that the 'Stobart' helicopter this-morning was G-STGR an Agusta A.109 - not an EC.135 as speculated by someone on an earlier post.
Also reported that Suckling Do.328 G-BZOG called into LJLA during the day - presumed in connection with Spurs team
A Police EC.135 was over Asda Hunts Cross area drifting towards Halewood. Later, at 1630 passed through 27 approach en route to Chester at speed, identified as G-CPAO.
