Here's a photo of a Stagecoach bus. Nothing unusual in that you may think but take a look at the blue advert in the window for a £10 Merseyside area Megarider. According to this add they are valid in area's such as; Hunts Cross, Woolton, Halewood, and Gateacre in Liverpool; Hoylake, New Brighton, Wallasey, Bidston, and Saughall Massey on the Wirral. I could be wrong but I am unaware that they actually operate in these area's at present. Therefore, can anyone shed any light on this. Here's a closer look. Note; the place names are a little hard to see as are in light blue on a darker blue background.

Thats exactly what I thought Jordan. I also have to travel on the Wirral on a regular basis and don't recall seeing any Stagecoach vehicles operating in service over there either. Yet I can't imagine a company the size of Stagecoach deliberately misleading the public in this way. There's got to be some sort of explanation but I can't think of one other than, that they now own a number of smaller operators within the region but haven't painted the vehicles in their own colours yet.

it looks like a "general areas of merseyside "background/wallpaper.....if you look at it the other way are there any areas of merseyside that they DO operate to that are NOT on it?...wonder if there are legal problems if you advertise something you do not provide..trade descriptions act??

I agree, never saw a stagecoach in Hunts Cross (Well no more). But look at this, it is off the merseytravel site. I have Highlighted/Circled key points. Source: Merseytravel Ps. Anyone else puzzled.

I should imagine there would be legal implications especially if someone bought one with the sole intention of traveling to the places mentioned.
There are places that I know of that are not included. These being; Bowring Park, Edge Hill, Old Swan, Clatterbribge, and Meols.

Thanks Nino. Just looked it up and Stagecoach take over the operating of this route from ACE Travel on the 22nd of June. So it looks like Stagecoach have placed these adverts on their vehicles a little too soon. I suppose its a little like KLM advertising Amsterdam prior to its operation from Liverpool.
