On my visit today to LPL with them being on 09 I decided to go down to the laybe on the road to the Control Tower. What I saw was an absolute disgrace, I don't know about Liverpool being the City of Culture it should be the City of Litter, the amount of litter along the side of the road was disgusting. Who is responsable for cleaning up this mess,Merseyside Council or Halton, whoever it is need's to get it's finger from up his arse and get busy. I spoke to the Police about it but if they can get thing's moving it would certainly help, some of the litter appears to be large container's which appear to have what look's like Relish left in them, alright if your butties need a bit of sauce on them. COME ON,WHO EVER IS RESPONSABLE TO CLEAN UP THIS MESS LET'S HAVE SOME ACTION.

Unfortunately this sort of thing spoils it for the decent people who take their litter home , But we all get classed as litterlout/pigs , any out of the way place is a target for fly tipping and dumping stuff , the trouble is as soon as it gets a clean up , it will be as bad again a week later . I found getting the local Councillors on side gets thing done as they know who to collar ! but this is only usually effective if the Council Elections are due .

Sadly it is not specifically peculiar to Dungeon Lane or Liverpool. Councils across the country are struggling to get on top of the cowboy fly tippers. Near here 3000 tyres were dumped overnight by what appeared to be a genuine business. They thought they had got away with it but prompt action by the Council and the Police resulted in them being collared. A small victory but we must not let the cowboys win. Keep the pressure on your councillors and make sure that they know you have a vote that you will use against them if they don't do something positive.

I must say that when the last government decided to introduce payments and licences costing around £80 per year, add to which they made it an offence for contractors like plumbers and carpet fitters to remove waste from a client, the end result was bound to be increased fly tipping.
I found on the Wirral a call to the local council street scene offices to complain usually sees the eyesore removed within a short time. Does this area have a similar council service ?

I think the last government brought out a law against just about everything - talk about control freaks. Isn't the land owner responsible for clearing the mess up? Not sure but I think it's owned by the airport. If so a few night vision cameras attached to the top of the control tower could sort it. Should make interesting viewing for the over 18s too .
