NWVRT is pleased to annouce the arrival of P309HEM Scania L113/Wright Axcess Ultralow into preservation. New to Merseybus in 1996 and retired from service just last week and is in excellent condtion.
This is the latest of the ever growing collection of former Merseyside Transport Limited vehicles to enter reservation, delivered to Gilmoss garage in June 1996 with the registration N309DKF as it was, it was later re-registered to P309 HEM before it was entered into service.
The batch of 20 Scania's were originally branded for the or the 12 and 13 Stockbridge Circular routes the branding consisted of a route diagram along the sides under the windows along with Merseytravel SMART stickers and LowLiner branding to make a statement of a Low Floor vehicle.

Thanks for letting us know Jordan. Glad one of those is being preserved but also surprised as they will be well sort-after by both small or new start companies especially as they are SLF too.
There the last that were ordered when MTL was an 'employee only' owned company. Built to a massive over speck with the intention of them lasting well over 20 years. Outside shareholders became involved after that and it was back to bogg standard (16 years if your lucky) Plaxton Pointers and Marshall Darts.
Any chance of you altering the title to spell my name right ;D

Been a while since i updated the goings on at Kirkby. We are now more or less full and have now joined forces with the 201 group who have moved the first Leyland Atlantean Wallasey one and the fantastic Birkenhead 10 Leyland Pd2/Massey. Leyland National 1000 is now ready for MOT after its restoration was completed and now we have a 2nd Leyland National in the fleet fromer Crosville Wales SNL49 Which is the last National Produced by Leyland at Workington. New Arrivals include the above 2 mentioned vehicles plus Leyland Atlantean/Alexander AN68 MPTE 1070 which was the last Atlantean Built and Fellow MPTE Atlantean 1032 has now joined the fleet after being bought by John Cherry of Helms Of Eastham Fame. Metrobus/Alexander 0062 has also joined the fleet, As a Charity ourselves we want to give something back to the Communities of the North West. The Group decided to do Bus depot tours to raise money for other charities. During December a tour organised by one of our members took place round Stagecoach Manchesters various depots including newly aquired Wigan n aid of the Braiden Lee Prescott Foundation. Braiden Lee Prescott has neuroblastoma, stage 4 cancer www.justgiving.com/Braiden-LeeCheck our FB app : www.facebook.com/BRAIDENLEEPRESCOTT/app_304158583019584www.facebook.com/BRAIDENLEEPRESCOTT?ref=hlFor that tour The group raised over £1,000 for the charity which they were made up with as you could well Imagine. Sadly Poor little Braiden is very ill again at the moment with the cancer having come back and this time its terminal. Sunday 3rd march 2013 Saw the 2nd Depot Tour this time in Conjunction with Arriva North West In aid of Clatterbridge Oncology Centre. Another Succesful tour took in depots Such as Runcorn to See the Brand New Gas Buses, Laird St to See the New Hybrid Cross River Buses. St.Helens and Speke Were also visited.
