Ron, I tihnk it may have something to do with a certain football match last Saturday and another to look forward to on 5th May. It was the one which spoiled Bob's birthday I think! Kev

;D despite set backs at Wembly it looks as if we are going to have more trophies than United this year. re TV - French TV does show English football at times--usually Arsenal it- saves having to hire a translator. just bought a computer programme that gives all live sport and satellite progs for a single payment of about £5 even saw Burnley play a while ago sitting in the garden--now that is progress--bizare but progress--roll on the test matches and completely baffling the locals. ;D ;D

I have FREESAT in France with all the offerings, same as in UK. No subscription. Similarly I have a programme on my PC which enables me to look at BBC I player as well the ITV, channel 4 and 5 equivalents. Finally I have an APP on the iPad which gives me free unlimited access to more TV programmes than you can shake a stick at including all the uk favourites, but not Sky. We have French TV as well, digital now of course, and I must say the French HD is by a long way far superior to the UK HD we receive. Its simply stunning.
Cricket? Yes, an avid watcher. A waste of time trying to explain the game to any foreigner, let alone a Frenchie, although I do have one neighbour who sat through one of the Channel. 5 highlight programmes and got hold of the basics. Nearby La Roche Sur Yon play in the French cricket league, although they are not too great. The French cricket cup final, usually held in the grounds of one of the chateaus in the Medoc is a good day out with good cricket played.
Test match special is permanently tuned into the radio in the hangar, and I can even get it on 200 mtrs on the ADF, if I am flying high enough.

Like Ron we have the satellites and I agree entirely with what he says. No Sky or test matches live on the satellite, that and the live football comes via the computer programme. Live test matches, glass of wine, sunshine and fresh peaches picked and at hand. Don't come much better.
