Inspired by the Lightning video that Chris (Carmedic) posted from his trip to Brunty on Sunday. I went looking for a particular Lightning shot i took at Binbrook in 1984. Well i couldn't find it! But i did stumble on these shots taken at the Woodford Families Day 1985. It was the best such event i can remember at Woodford, of course the highlight had to be the Phantom. G-ARHW was the Woodford comms Dove 8. All the old HSA sites within BAe had a Dove for comms duties. G-BDVH The HS 748-2A(LFD) Multi Role Demonstrator. G-SSHH Second prototype (E1002) BAe 146-100 from Hatfield. Later converted at Cranfield to the 146-STA (Strategic Transport Aircraft). G-VTOL Harrier T52 demonstrator from Dunsfold, now in the museum at Weybridge. XT596 The second British F-4K Phantom, used throughout its life on development work. Operated to/from the BAe facility at Scampton. Now in the FAAM at Yeovilton. XZ287 Nimrod AEW3 development aircraft (DB-2). Pre dates the fitting of a flight refueling probe and lacking the vortex generators just aft of the forward radome that were fitted to stop flameouts on the inboard engines at high angles of attack. Well, back to looking for that Lightning picture now. Cheers Shaun
