Photobucket have just decided that all links on their site will be scrambled from the end of November and are offering the facility now. I took them up on the offer but they say any links on sites like this one will have to be re-done. Nightmare for those who have a lot of images on here from PB.

Ray where did you get this information regarding scrambling as I pay an annual fee to Photobucket and nobody has informed me of these changes. I won't be happy if all my photos become useless and need redoing. I will take my custom elsewhere if this happens. Regards Beemer.

I've had a look around the not too easy to navigate Photobucket site. Under 'Protection and Security' find the changes to be made shortly. A rather confusing sentence in red, to me suggests that if you want to apply the new security measures to existing linked photos you have to repost each one individually. I do not interpret the sentence as meaning all unprotected img and html links will be dropped once the new protection measures come into place.
I noticed yesterday that changes already in place, mean that for each photo link there are now a further two mouse moves to be made for each photo linked to the forum - so making a multi-photo post even longer winded, still I'll get used to it I suppose.
One detail I could not find on Photobucket is the maximium number of images permitted, I know a few forum users have found their 'Photobucket' album full in the past. Ah! now found this information as circular diagram and percentage - but cannot re-find the 'Protection and Security' page located late last night!!

Sorry if I have caused consternation and confusion with my post about photobucket. I obviously misunderstood what they were on about. I have to admit that I was worried about this and had decided that if any of my images needed to be re-posted it would cause me so much hassle that I was not going to bother. But, having accepted their advice and scrambled everything. It does not seem to have affected anything uploaded prior to the scrambling. Sorry folks I honestly thought I was helping. I will now go away and hang my head in shame while wearing sackcloth and ashes, beating myself with a barbed wire and begging forgivenes from the great God NWAN!

I wouldn't worry too much 'spotter 27', I found sections of the Photobucket site very confusing and the language used far from clear - it took me quite a while to sort out the changes and their impact. There was once a campaign for clear English - Photobucket fail on their explaination of their changes to security and the way they would be applied. You were correct to alert the forum to changes to Photobucket and their possible implications.

Photobucket is and always has been a shambles. Their website is dreadfully complicated. Their photo editing programme is difficult to use...and the method of copying photos to a location of your choice such as a forum seems to change every time I try to use it. Which I don't any more.
The simple and effective way to put photos on NWAN is to edit them on your own computer and then just attach the relevant file to your post...or is it MEANT to be difficult???

When you first use Photobucket it is a bit daunting but is easy peasy when you have used it a few times. I edit my photos in Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 and then upload to PB. I have never used PB's own editing facility preferring to use my own. Regards Beemer.
