Just following on from johnoakes post on H.M.S Vanguard and this being a thread on the Jubilee, Vanguard was the first ship to be launched by the then Princess Elizabeth on the 30th November 1944 the first ship she launched as Queen on 16th April 1953 was her beloved Royal Yacht Britannia overall she has launched in excess of 20 ships during her reign so far

Wonder why Britannia was taken from her and by whom?
perhaps the guy who didn't get an invite to the royal wedding.
Thieving posh git--being married to Cruella de Ville is a just punishment.LOL
Very interesting info re the Vanguard.A brilliant ship.--did it ever see service or combat? I think not somehow.

John Britannia was decommissioned in 1997 under the Blair Government from memory so you can make your own mind up on that on Re Vanguard she did not fire her guns in anger but they were recycled from Glorious and Courageous which were fist world war cruisers converted to aircraft carriers so the may have used them JJ
