Myself and the Wife ventured to Cosford on Sunday (with some trepidation considering the forecast and last years' experience) for the airshow. The weather on the whole was quite good except for a couple of light showers and one spell where the rain was quite heavy, this only lasted about 10mins but it did prevent the RV8tors SWIP team from completing their display. There was a good crowd turnout as well. Heres some pics from the event but sadly, due to a schoolboy error, not all of my pics are postable........I forgot to turn down the exp comp so quite a few are useless. Iv'e photoshoped some to try and smarten them up but its a lesson learnt. Ian. Brilliant photos taken in poor light--very skillful. I ahve a tale for you about the Sopwith Triplane--it was made in Yorkshire and we had a trip to the sheds--literally-- where it was made. They were making a Bristol monoplane as their next venture. Tom Sopwith--in his late 90s came to see the triplane and was so impressed with its authenticity that he signed it off personally as a late prodution model and not a replica--now not many people know that-- but the late Tom Sopwith was a true hero and that was typical of the sort of true British gentleman he was.
