Wizzair seem to have had a good month in November:
Bucharest 8461 up 76% on 2017 (total with Blue Air LF 77%) Budapest 4593 up 82% (LF 82%) Cluj- Napoca 2523 up 72% (LF 78% first full month) Gdansk 4332 up 3% (LF93%) Iasi 2464 (LF 76% first full month) Katowice 2516 up 5% (LF 87%) Warsaw-Chopin 2933 up 32% (LF 91%)
Massive increase overall on the Bucharest route - where did all the extra pax come from ?!!! First full month to Cluj-Napoca only beaten twice by Blue Air in 29 months of operation. Also the lowest ever monthly pax total on Blue Air to Bacau - affected by the proximity of Iasi perhaps.

Wizz Air's winter 2019/20 schedule has been published with all 8 routes bookable until the end of March 2020. Especially good to see Varna continues at twice weekly.

Only for tonight though.
Drops back to three per week and goes back to four from 20 June. In July is up to five per week and lasts until mid Sept.
It's then to four for the rest of the summer period.

Whizz have started services to Castellion in Spain as an alternative to Barcelona and Valencia which it bisects. I wonder if Whizz are ever going to join the dots and include Liverpool in their expansion plans. Castellion could be interesting.

Ryanair only serve Castellon from Stansted. Whilst this might be of general interest it is Liverpool we wish to see linked to other destinations. Hopefully Wizz will continue their growth at Liverpool and possibly establish a base here which would allow some important routes to re-established (Lisbon & Rome for example).

Wizz Air are a significant player at Liverpool, now, from humble beginnings and steady but sure growth. I'm happy to see that continuing. I think I am right in saying that Luton and Doncaster have more Wizz air flights than Liverpool, and so long as Wizz air continue to grow at Doncaster and Liverpool, and not somewhere else, again I am happy to see that. What I think we do want is for Wizz air to suddenly start competing on certain popular routes only for others to embark upon a campaign of destruction which is partly what undid the Blue Air base, although of course there were other issue there too.

Just as an aside, the new Varna Route has been awarded 'cake of the week' by anna.aero.
