They are very slowly disposing of the B737-300 (I think Jet2 have picked up one or 2), and more B737-800's are being delivered, so does not surprise me.

Surely if they were having iniital difficulties filling seats they would use the little ones?

Who says they are having initial difficulties?

They only have 11 B737-300's left compared to 58 B737-800's, with 50 more due in the next few years.
Add to that, the majority of the B733's are based in OSL, with CPH being mainly a B738 base, hence the CPH-LPL being a B738.
They should have no issues at all filling 2 B737-800's per week to LPL, especially on football days which is the market they have said they are specifically after.

May I suggest that this topic is relabelled "Norwegian" which would reflect the airline's branded name.
Whilst the company is technically Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA, it is commercially branded as "Norwegian".
Further details on their website.

Bluefox--the word "if" is important in this context--don't give the antis amunition by starting a rumour. There are no known initial difficulties and IF there were they might need to use a smaller 737--they are not so there seem to be NO difficulties whatsoever.
It would be pleasant if they considered LJLA as an English base.

John,
Unfortunately, to my mind it is your statement that starts the rumour - never mind the 'if', you appear to be stating that you have information that 'they are having difficulty filling seats'. Your post is misleading, as to my knowledge there has been no announcement on booking progress at present on which to base such a statement. Norwegian are seeking to standardise on the Boeing 737-800 and I have understood from the beginning that the larger aircraft would be used and the only type available.

Sorry Viscount but despite you being an administrator I beg to differ--no open minded person would make such a statement--sorry but there it is.
They are using the big ones when they could be using the little ones ergo NO difficulties filling seats. SIMPLES. Let's move on before this degenerates and is censored.

Cork Airport has two unused airbridges because the carriers are not willing to pay the extra cost involved. However as a passenger I must say I look far more favourably on a modern airport with air bridges and its nice to stay warm and dry during the boarding and disembarkation process. I have heard many negative comments about airports that force their clients to face the elements and the extra cost per ticket is probably negligible. At MAN with some carriers such as Aer Lingus you always seem to use airstairs in spite of the availability of air bridges and I assume its because they cost less. I think some airbridges would help LPLs image greatly, but it would depend on how much more that would add to the price of an individual ticket.
